Rose/ Rosa gallica
Roses have a long tradition of medicinal use, some say that “Roses are good for the skin and soul” and in my experience, the preparation and use of rose petals do indeed open the heart and widen perspective. They have anti-depressant, anti-spasmodic, aphrodisiac, astringent and sedative properties just to name a few.
Elderflower/ Sambucus nigra
Elderflower has long been used for its diaphoretic and anti -catarrhal properties, it is a well-known preventative remedy for hay fever and conditions of the upper respiratory tract.
Lemon Verbena/ Aloysia citrodora
With its light and fragrant lemony taste, Lemon Verbena is a refreshing and uplifting addition to an infusion. It is also an anti-inflammatory, immune enhancer, carminative, nervine and relaxant.
Chamomile/ Matricia officinlis
This delicate and sweet smelling herb is an excellent gentle sedative, safe for use with children. It also has anti-spasmodic, anti- inflammatory, carminative, nervine, and analgesic properties.
Mint/ Mentha spp.
Mint is a cooling, soothing and refreshing addition to any tea blend and is also excellent taken solo. Mint is a wonderful carminative, it has a relaxing effect on the digestive system with anti-flatulent properties and stimulates bile production. This herb is also a well-known antispasmodic and analgesic and anti-microbial.
Hibiscus/ Hibiscus rosa-sinensis
